ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE FUNGICIDAL AND INSECTICIDAL COMPOSITIONS AND METHOD FOR TREATING WOOD An aqueous composition having fungicidal and insecticidal properties is described and which is useful particularly for treating wood. The aqueous composition comprises (a) at least one oil-soluble metal salt of an organic carboxylic acid having fungicidal properties, (b) at least one halopyridyl phosphate of the formula Image wherein R represents a halopyridyl group, Z represents oxygen or sulfur, and each R' is independently a lower alkoxy, amino or lower alkylamino group, (c) at least one surfactant, and (d) water. Such compositions penetrate into both dry and green wood rather readily, and the result is wood which is resistant to fungi and insects.
