ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A lawn mower comprising a blade housing, an internal combustion engine being supported on the blade housing and including a crankshaft, an output shaft rotatably supported by the blade housing, the output shaft being operably connected to the crankshaft such that rotation of the crankshaft at a given rpm causes rotation of the output shaft at an rpm less than the rpm of the crankshaft, and the output shaft having a cutting blade fixedly mounted thereon and housed within the blade housing.
