- 1 - Stretched Surface Recording Disk Substrate Abstract A stretched surface recording disk (10) includes an annular substrate (12) to which are adhesively attached magnetic recording films (14, 16) covering each major surface (24, 26) of the substrate (12). The substrate (12) has annular ridges (28, 42) adjacent its inner and outer diameters which support the film (14, 16) above and parallel to each major surface (24, 26) and film attachment surfaces (36, 48) adjacent the ridges (28, 42) which are radiused an amount sufficient to place the adhesive in compression, preferably about 0.80 mm.
