ABSTRACT A faucet valve for hot and cold water has a valve member which is movable between an open and closed position and sliding contact with a self springing sealing member which is seated in an enlarged downstream bore section of the inlet port. The sealing member is generally tubular in shape with annular grooves thereabout to provide thin flexible sections therein which allows the valve element to compress the sealing member within the enlarged bore section of the inlet port. The sealing member is thus spring biased so that its lower and upper ends seal against a shoulder of the enlarged bore and the valving surface of the valve element, respectively.
