ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A bearing in which a locking or locating pin is used to substantially prevent relative motion between its outer race and its housing, the locking pin preferably being formed by a cold heading technique from a slug of metal so, as to have a generally cylindrical sleeve and a pin-like member in the sleeve which extends therefrom. When an axial compressive force is applied to the locking pin, the pin-like member telescopes into the sleeve, thereby preventing damage to the outer race of the bearing.
