ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An electrical connector block for a flat ribbon cable having a plurality of conductors lying side-by side in an insulating ribbon comprises a base having a plurality of terminals extending therethrough lying in a plurality of rows. Each terminal has an upper connection end a lower insulation-piercing end. At least one terminal is aligned with each conductor in the ribbon so that, when the base is pressed against the ribbon, the terminals contact the con- ductors of the ribbon. Components can be connected between terminals of each row and held on the base for interconnecting conductors in the ribbon or connecting the conductors to a ground. A top cover includes a recess for covering the components and is engaged over the base while a bottom cover is engaged under the base and includes a plurality of slots for accommodating any displacement of the ribbon after it has been pierced by the insulation-piercing ends of the terminals.
