ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A female electrical connector formed to mate with a cylindrical pin-type connector and establish separate lines of electrical contact tangentially along a portion of the length of the pin connector by the use of resiliently hinged "V" shaped contacts. A hood element surrounds the "V" shaped contacts and functions to limit movement of the contacts when the pin is inserted and thereby cause the contacts to be tangentially compressed against the surface of the pin connec- tor and define lines of electrical contact. An insulative housing for the connector provides a protruding locking element and a removable locking wedge to secure the connec- tion in place.
