Fused furanones, processes for their preparation and their use in medicaments Abstract 1-Oxo-1,3,4,7-tetrahydrobenzofuranes of the formula Image in which R is optionally substituted phenyl or heteroaryl, R1 is OH, monoalkylamino or dialkylamino, and R2 is an acyl or esterified carboxy radical, or pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof, which are active in circulation, e.g. they increase myocardial con- tractility, increase the flow of Ca2+ into the cell, increase blood pressure, reduce blood sugar, reduce swelling of mucous membranes and affect the salt and/or fluid balance.
