SURGICAL FASTENER APPLYING APPARATUS Abstract of the Disclosure In apparatus for applying a plurality of surgical fasteners to body tissue clamped between fastener holding and anvil parts of the apparatus, tissue edge control members extend into at least one end, and preferably both ends, of the fastener array to prevent any portion of the tissue from extending beyond the ends of the array. This ensures that the fastener array extends completely across the tissue and that no portion of the tissue remains unfastened.
