ABSTRACT Quinolizinone compounds of the formula: Image wherein R1 is carboxy, amidated carboxy, cyano, thiocarbamoyl or tetrazolyl group; R7 is hydrogen or aryl; R2 is hydrogen, hydroxy, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy; R3 is hydrogen, hydroxy, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, carboxy, protected carboxy, lower alkenyloxy, aryl which may have suitable substituent(s), arylthio, aroyl, ar(lower)alkyl, arenesulfonyl, arylamino which may have a suit- able substituent or aryloxy; and R2 and R3 can be located at any place on the quinolizinone ring and can be linked together to form -CH2CH2CH2-, -CH=CH- or -CH=CH-CH=CH-; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof have inhibitory activities on allergies and ulcers.
