A method of characterising a first biological sample comprising (a) contacting a first biological sample with at least two different receptor moleculesto generate a first pattern of reactivity; and, (b) comparing the first pattern of reactivity to a second pattern of reactivity generated by a known biological sample wherein said second pattern is indicative of expression of oncogeneor oncogene-related sequences. Kits for practising the method are also disclosed.
