ETHOXYLATED AMINE POLYMERS HAVING CLAY SOIL REMOVAL/ANTI-REDEPOSITION PROPERTIES USEFUL IN DETERGENT COMPOSITIONS ABSTRACT Water-soluble ethoxylated amine polymers having clay soil removal/anti-redeposition properties, which comprise a polymer backbone other than a polyalkyleneamine backbone, and at least 2 M groups and at least one L-X group, wherein M is a tertiary amine group attached to or integral with the backbone; X is a nonionic group, an anionic group or mixture thereof; and L is a hydrophilic chain connecting groups M and X or connecting X to the polymer backbone. L also contains the polyoxyalkylene moiety -[(R'O)m(CH2CH2O)n]-, wherein R' is C3-C4 alkylene or hydroxyalkylene, m and n are numbers such that the moiety -(CH2CH2O)n- comprises at least about 50% by weight of said polyoxyalkylene moiety, and n is at least about 3 except when the polymer backbone is a polyalkyleneimine backbone, and n is at least about 12 when the polymer backbone is a polyalkyleneimine backbone. these ethoxylated amine polymers are useful in detergent compositions.
