PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: L'invention concerne un procédé de purification du chlorure d'aluminium anhydre contenant des produits organiques chlorés, jusqu'à destruction totale ou partielle desdits produits organiques chlorés, caractérisé en ce que: a) on met en contact ledit chlorure d'aluminium avec un bain d'au moins un chloroaluminate, et b) on récupère le chlorure d'aluminium dans la phase vapeur du bain de chloroaluminate. Ce procédé a l'avantage de ne pas utiliser des températures élevées comme c'est le cas pour les procédés de l'art antérieur.
