- 6 - ABSTRACT A ladder safety device comprises three telescopically arranged coaxial tubes (10, 12, 14). Apertures (16, 18) in the tubes can be brought into register by telescopic extension of the tubes and the device can then be mounted across the top of a ladder with the ends of the ladder uprights being received in the aligned apertures. The device serves to spread the load imposed by the ladder on a wall and reduces the risk of sliding or tipping.
