ABSTRACT A hydraulic choking device for use in controlling fluid flow from an oil or gas well having an improved valve chamber and valve design to reduce parts wear and facilitate repairs wherein the chamber is provided with a cavity within the chamber passageway sidewall to which the fluids are initially directed and wherein a ball nose plug is utilized as the valve gate to seal the valve.
