ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Equipment for the raising of eels, crayfish and other bottom-living marine organisms, is disclosed. It comprises a water-filled container for accommodating the marine organisms, in which, beneath the surface of the water, a supporting base is provided, into which tubular hiding receptacles terminate towards the fresh water side. The marine organisms preferably live in these hiding receptacles in accordance with their habits. The hiding receptacles for eels extend downwards at an inclination from the opening on the fresh water side. For raising of crayfish, the hiding tubes extend horizontally away from the fresh water section. There is a forced flow of water through the hiding receptacles flow of water, especially towards a dirty-water section, so that excrement, feed scraps and other con- taminants are discharged from the tubes towards the dirty-water section. Provision may be made with respect to heating, so that, due to special designs of the supporting base, it is possible to use either slightly or highly contaminated warm waste water for heating purposes.
