ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The arraying device is particularly intended for parallel positioning the ends of the optical fibers in a linear array on a flat grooved aligning holder. The fibers initially are equally spaced around an axially symmetrical structure such as the grooved core of a fiber optical cable that has been stripped with the view to connecting it to another fiber optical cable through the flat aligning holder. The arraying device comprises a longilinear member having longitudinally extending grooves which each are designed to receive a single optical fiber of the cable. The longitudinal grooves are spaced out about one first end of the member in a similar fashion to the way the optical fibers are disposed around the cable core, and are aligned along an axis transverse with the second end of the member. Elastic rings are slidable about and along the member, from the first end to the second end of the member, to push and press the optical fibers in the longitudinal grooves of the member. Once the rings are embedding in transversely extending grooves of the second end, the fiber ends are held In a parallel and coplanar fashion and can be laid in the aligning grooves of the flat connection holder.
