- 1 - Abstract: A road asphalt composition having a penetration at 25°C in the range of 85 to 100 is made by blending to- gether: (a) a pitch having an initial boiling point of at least 520°C obtained as a residue in the visbreaking of crude oil, and (b) a distillation residue having a penetration at 25°C in the range of 150 to 500 obtained in the distillation of crude oil.
