ABSTRACT Process for the selective oxidative carbonylation of conjugated dienes Process for the selective oxidative carbonylation of a conjugated diene, in particular butadiene, with carbon nonoxide and an alcohol in a quantity of at least 2 mol equivalents per mol diene, in the presence of a catalyst system comprising at least the following components: (a) a compound of a metal, selected from one or more platinum group metals, (b) an oxidizing agent in the form of quinone and/or derivatives thereof, and (c) a compound of a metal, selected from manganese or vanadium, which specific catalyst systems can be used as such or in the form of a solution or suspension in a suitable solvent.
