ABSTRACT A drywall sander comprises an electric motor and a rotary sanding head mounted at opposite ends of an arm so that the machine is balanced when the user grasps the arm just in front of the motor. The sanding is pivotaly mounted on the arm so that it self-aligns with the surface being sanded and is connected to the motor by a flexible drive. The abrasive surface in said sanding head is surrounded by an enclosure to catch the dust.
