A B S T R A C T An electromagnetic vibrating system comprising an electromagnet-armature combination producing vibration and including at least first and second elements defining a gap therebetween, a base member supporting the first element, a member to be vibrated which is connected to the second element, and non-linear spring apparatus associated with the base and the member to be vibrated including apparatus for storing substantial energy of the electromagnet-armature combination as it approaches its minimum gap and converting it to kinetic energy of the member to be vibrated.
