ABSTRACT An expansion bolt assembly includes an anchor bolt with a conically shaped head at one end arranged to be drawn into an expansion sleeve. At the oppposite end, the anchor bolt forms a plurality of axially extending projections protruding radially out- wardly from the anchor bolt shank. The axially extend- ing projections are spaced circumferentially apart around the anchor bolt and the outer surface of the projections are threaded to receive a nut. The anchor bolt can be produced in an extrusion process with great material economy.
