ABSTRACT A method of cultivating plants without soil, where- in a nutrient solution is supplied to the root system of the plants. Before the nutrient solution is supplied to the root system it is oxidized with substantially pure oxy- gen to maintain a content of dissolved oxygen at the root system which is at least 4 ppm.
