A two-track configuration of the packaging machine doubles the output at a given speed (number of strokes). By the special designing of a cigarette maga- zine (26) in conjunction with a group turret (28), it is accomplished that the formation of cigarette groups (21) and the insertion into the pockets (64) of the group tur- ret (28) can be performed within adequately set stroke times at a high output of the packaging machine.
