A B S T R A C T This invention relates to a process for the preparation of a compound containing an -NHC(=CHNO2)NHCH3. The process comprises reacting an N-methyl derviative of the general formula (II): Image (II) wherein R1 is a C1-4 alkyl group, with a suitable amine. The resulting compounds are useful histamine H2-antagonists.
