ROTARY VACUUM CHAMBER PACKAGING ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improvement is provided for a rotary vacuum chamber pack- aging machine of the type wherein a plurality of vacuum chambers are moved continuously about a closed path, a vacuum packaging cycle being completed within each chamber during each revolution. The improvement includes method and apparatus for communicating with each of the vacuum chambers individually as they move through an interval on the closed path between vacuum packaging cycles to select the extent of vacuumizing for each article to be packaged, respectively, as each such article is pre- sented at a loading station from which each article is introduced into its respective preset vacuum chamber. The improvement is especially useful for soft vacuum packaging of porous articles.
