Abstract of the Disclosure A pitched floating standing seam metal roof formed of elongated metal panels. Each panel is provided with an upstanding female side portion and an upstanding male side portion. Adjacent panels are sidelapped and endlapped. The lapped portions are sealed with a resilient mastic sealant. Means are provided for applying constant pressure to the sealant. The roof is attached to the infrastructure by two-part clips. The lower part of each clip is fixed; the upper part of each clip is provided with means for preventing relative motion of the clip in respect of the roof panels. Each of the panels of the four-corner junction of the lapped standing seam portions is notched. The junction is sealed by a hood which compresses a sealant over the junction.
