ABSTRACT A process for preparing an acrylic rubber blend comprising a copolymer consisting of as a first copolymer ethylacrylate/acrylic acid, ethylacrylate/methacaylic acid, butylacrylate/acrylic acid, butylacrylate/methacrylic acid, ethylacrylate/butylacrylate/acrylic acid or ethylacrylate/ butylacrylate/methacrylic acid, and as a second copolymer styrene/acrylonitrile. The process comprising: mixing the first and second copolymers at a temperature between the glass transition temperature of the second copolymer and 220°C and in the presence of (i) from 0.5 to 2 weight percent, dased on the weight of the first and second copolymers, of zinc chloride, cadmium chloride, ferric chloride, aluminum chloride or boron trifluoride, and (ii) an epoxy cross-linking agent. The blends prepared by this process have improved impact-resistance.
