DISPOSABLE DIAPER HAVING WIDE TAPERED FASTENING TAPES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A disposable diaper having elasticized leg openings and improved fastening tapes which have a user's end that is wide at the longitudinal sides of the diaper and that is tapered to a more narrow width at its distal end. The wide user's end of the fastening tapes tensions and secures more of the overlapping waist portions of the diaper so that a good fit about the legs and waist is maintained. Tapering of the user's end of the tapes increases wearing comfort and makes them easier to handle and apply.
