Abstract of the Disclosure A threaded thermoplastic closure (10) having a free-floating liner (15) is disclosed. To prevent backoff of the closure (10) from a container (C), studs (20) are provided on the top wall (12) of the closure (10) which anchor the closure (10) to the liner (15), thus utilizing the resistance to rotation present between the liner (15) and the container lip (80).
