Abstract of the Disclosure This invention relates to new phenoxyphenylthio- alkanecarboxylic acid derivatives with herbicidal and plant growth-regulating activity of the formula Image wherein A is cyano or a -COOH group, a salt of a carboxy- lic-acid, an ester, a thioester an amide, imidoether there- of, C is hydrogen, halogen, cyano, C1-C4alkyl, C1-C4alkoxy, D and E are the same as C but can also be nitro, trifluoro- methyl, methylsulfonyl or dimethylsulfamoyl, HA1 is halogen and n is 0, 1 or 2.
