Abstract of the Disclosure A rheologically smooth opaque dentifrice containing a siliceous polishing material, at least about 35% by weight of water, sodium alkyl sulfate surface active agent wherein the alkyl group contains 10 - 18 carbon atoms with about 40 - 70% thereof being C12, and about 0.1 - 15% by weight of an alkylene diamine tetramethylene phosphonic acid water soluble salt.
