BARBECUE COVER TILT CONTROL ABSTRACT A handle extends through a side wall of the cover of a barbecue to connect to a straight bar on the inner end of the handle structure spaced from the inside surface of the cover side wall. This bar extends downwardly at right angles to the axis of the handle. Appropriate indexing steps are provided spaced inwardly of the side wall of the base structure at different vertical distances below the top side of the base such that the bar can be rotated by the handle to a position to be received in a selected one of the steps to support the cover in a partially open position and thereby provide ventila- tion. The staight bar can be rotated to an out-of-the-way position to permit complete closure of the cover on the base.
