ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A marker for indicating, at a construction site the location of the curb box and rod leading to the underground water shut off valve on the external pipe leading from a water main to a building. The marker comprises an elongated flexible post; a flag secured to one end thereof; and a cap secured to the other end of the post. The cap is internally threaded to mateably receive the external threads on the upper end of the box for releasably securing the marker thereto. The marker, flag and cap are preferably made of steel and welded together.
