ABSTRACT ELECTRODE CONFIGURATION FOR A HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRIC BOILER An improved electric boiler design. Use of a unique combination of jet (6) formation, and spacing of high voltage electrodes, which minimizes jet disintegration and subsequent flashover between boiler jet feedwater header (4, 37) and high voltage jet receiving electrode (10). The disclosed invention avoids flashover caused by intersecting or colliding vertically disposed jets. Jet collision (41) produces disintegration or "splashing" of generally cylindrical jets (6) at critical portions adjacent to the high voltage receiving and flow channel- ing electrode (10). Units constructed utilizing the disclosed configuration provide reduced boiler flashover at normal voltages and extension of operating range to substantially higher voltages.
