"OXAZOLIDIN-2-ONES" ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE New oxazolidin-2-ones of formula I Image I wherein X is C1, Br, I or OR1; R1 is H, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkoxyalkyl or alkenyloxyalkyl each of 2-6 C atoms or cycloalkyl of 3-8 C atoms; and R2 is alkyl or hydroxyalkyl of 1-6C atoms, cycloalkyl of 3-8 C atoms or aralkyl which has a total of 7-15 C atoms and is unsubstituted or sub- stituted in the aryl radical by 1, 2 or 3 alkyl, alkoxy, OH and/or C1 groups or by one methylenedioxy group, have valuable pharmacological properties and are suitable, e.g., for combating cardiac illnesses. They also are valuable as intermediates for the production of known pharmacologically active compounds.
