ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A polymer composition containing a vinyl-type polymer tends to increase in viscosity and harden in air due to moisture when the vinyl polymer contains silyl radicals and a polar ethylenically unsaturated monomer. This has prevented the wider use of these polymer compositions for paints, sealants, and coating materials. However, when mixed with a hydrolytic ester and/or an alkyl alcohol, the polymer composition can be stabil- ized to moisture, so long as the content of the polar ethylenical- ly unsaturated monomer is in the range from 0.1 to 20% by weight.
