A floating dock ABSTRACT In order to make possible a "self-docking" of a floating dock, the same is divided into a middle pon- toon and two end pontoons . These are in- terconnectable in alternative positions in the vertical direction, one normal operating position, and two "self- docking" positions The middle portion is designed to lift both end portions , and the latter are designed together to lift the middle pontoon. The pontoons are held together by bolts , which are accessible from cofferdam-like spaces , formed when two pontoons are fitted together, and which may be maintained watertight. Male and female coupling members are furthermore provided to secure the pon- toons in their two operative positions. During a disconnecting and connecting opera- tion the pontoons are guided by means, which may include rigid link arms , or chains or the like. The ballast arrangements within the end pontoons will have to be designed so they, in the first mentioned case will permit a trimming transversely, and in the latter case permit a trimming longitudinally as well as transversely.
