- 18 - METHOD FOR MAKING THERMOPLASTICS WITH BOUND STABILIZERS Abstract: Styrenic resins, and particularly rubber-modified styrenic resins, are usefully stabilized when melt processed in mixtures with a stabilizer containing a mercaptan group and as a reaction promoter, a free radical initiator. The process grafts the stabilizer to the styrenic resin, thus preventing subsequent loss of stabilizer by leaching or migration.
