61815-3227 ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A catalyst system for polymerizing butene-l comprising: a compo- nent (A) consisting of one or more dialkylaluminum hydride compounds having a total molar amount greater than 75 moles of said dialkylaluminum compound per mole of titanium; a component (B) consisting of an alkylaluminum halide having a total molar amount greater than 25 moles of said alkylaluminum halide per mole of titanium, and which, at least in part, has been premixed with component (D); a component (C) consisting of a selectivity control agent consisting of one or more aromatic esters in a total molar amount greater than 50 moles of ester per mole of titanium; and a component (D) consisting of a titanium halide and an electron donor on a support comprised of a magnesium halide.
