13 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A mass air flow sensor has a vortex generator posi- tioned in the air flow for generating two streams of vortices. Spaced vortex detectors are each positioned the same distance downstream of the vortex generator in one of the two streams of vortices. The vortex detectors are coupled to a differential amplifier which reduces noise signals applied equally to the vortex detectors and enhances vortex signals alternately applied to the vortex detectors.
