F-4447 PROCESS FOR PREPARING A NOBLE METAL-CONTAINING ZEOLITE CATALYST ABSTRACT A process for preparing a noble metal-containing zeolite comprises the steps of a) contacting the zeolite with a cationic noble metal complex; b) calcining the resulting material in the presence of molecular oxygen at 300 to 375°C for a time sufficient to cause decomposition of said complex; c) purging oxygen and water from the calcined material in an inert atmosphere at 200 to 350°C; and d) reducingthe purged material with hydrogen at 200 to 350°C for a time sufficient to reduce the cationic noble metal to highly dispersed free metal.
