A B S T R A C T A fuel injection apparatus for an internal combust- ion engine comprising a metering device to adjust the quant- ity of fuel delivered each cycle of the device in response to conditions in the engine induction passage, a control act- ivating said device to effect a base of the engine, and a sensor responsive to transient engine conditions to increase the number of cycles of the metering device above the base number per revolution.
