SUBSTANTIVE SKIN CARE COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING A POLYDIORGANOSILOXANE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Skin care compositions having improved resistance to removal by water-exposure are provided by incorporating therein a nonvolatile polydihydrocarbylsiloxane having a viscosity at 25°C of at least 30,000 centipose (30 pascal-seconds). Emulsion compositions are prepared by emulsifying the siloxane in water and mixing the resulting emulsion with one or more skin care components. A volatile siloxane is preferably also incorporated into the skin care composition. The amount of nonvolatile polydihydrocarbylsiloxane component is sufficient to increase the skin-substantivity of at least one of the skin care components.
