A method and system for reporting evolved universal mobile telecommunication systems (UMTS) terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) capabilities are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) sends a first message to a core network (CN) to report the E-UTRAN capabilities of the WTRU. The CN then updates the WTRU capabilities based on the first message. The first message may include a radio access capability information element (IE) which carries information related to E-UTRAN capabilities of the WTRU and/or a network capability IE which carries information regarding network capabilities of the WTRU. The CN sends a second message to the WTRU to report network capabilities with respect to the radio access networks (RANs) to which the core network is connected and services that can be provided over the E-UTRAN.
La présente invention a trait à un procédé et un système pour l'établissement de rapport de capacités évoluées de réseau d'accès terrestre (E-UTRAN) de systèmes universels de télécommunications mobiles (UMTS). Une unité de transmission/réception sans fil (WTRU) envoie un premier message à un réseau central (CN) pour le rapport de capacités évoluées de réseau d'accès terrestre de l'unité de transmission/réception sans fil. Le noyau central assure en suite la mise à jour des capacités de l'unité de transmission/réception sans fil en fonction du premier message. Le premier message peut inclure un élément d'information de capacité d'accès radio (IE) qui porte une information associée aux capacités évoluées de réseau d'accès terrestre et/ou un élément d'information de capacité de réseau qui porte une information concernant les capacités de réseau de l'unité de transmission/réception sans fil. Le noyau central envoie un deuxième message à l'unité de transmission/réception sans fil pour le rapport de capacités de réseau par rapport aux réseaux d'accès radio auxquels est relié le noyau central et des services qui peuvent être fournis sur le réseau d'accès terrestre.
