A collapsible flood barrier which may be readily deployed adjacent a flooding riverbank, and then inflated to form a temporary dike which is formed as a longitudinally elongated triangular tube closed at each of its ends. One or more drain and/or fill holes are formed in the tube to permit water to be pumped into and drained from the tube interior to inflate and deflate the flood barrier. One or more internal reinforcing members are located along the interior of the barrier. The reinforcing members are joined along each edge opposing portions of the barrier walls such that when fully filled, the barrier is characterized by a plurality of longitudinally extending outwardly convex arch-shaped portions. In use, flood barriers are oriented end-to-end in an outstretched position so as to extend longitudinally parallel to the bank of a flooding river. Water is then pumped from the river through the tube inlets to inflate the barrier. When fully filled, the volume of water which is pumped into the flood barrier provides the barrier with sufficient structural rigidity and weight as to prevent the flood waters from seeping underneath the barrier.
