A system, method, and computer program product utilizing a default user ID, such as ~help~, that has no assigned password. When the user logs into the computer using this ID, their login is ~captured~ and a crippled windows manager is started along with a web browser pointed to a specific URL. The user has no ability to manipulate the operating system, the local file system, or even the web browser. All the user is able to do is interact with the automated reset page(s) on the network authentication server. Once the user has completed her password reset and closed the browser, the user~s web session is logged out and the user can now log in with her new password and her original userid.
L'invention concerne un système, un procédé et un produit de programme informatique mettant en oeuvre une ID d'utilisateur par défaut, telle que aide , ne possédant pas de mot de passe attribué. Quand l'utilisateur ouvre une session au moyen de cette ID, son entrée dans le système est capturée et un gestionnaire de fenêtres dégradé est démarré en même temps qu'un navigateur web dirigé sur un URL spécifique. L'utilisateur ne peut pas manipuler le système d'exploitation, le système de fichier local, ni le navigateur web. La seule chose que l'utilisateur est capable de faire c'est d'interagir avec les pages remises à jour automatisées sur le serveur d'authentification du réseau. Une fois que l'utilisateur a remis à jour son mot de passe et fermé le navigateur, la session web de celui-ci est fermée et l'utilisateur peut désormais ouvrir une session avec le nouveau mot de passe et l'ID original.
