This invention relates to new RAR selective retinoid agonists of formula (I) wherein R is hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, benzyl or phenethyl; R1 is hydrogen or alkyl; X represents C(R2R3) and m is an integer 1,2 or 3; or X is oxygen, sulfur or NH and m is 1; R2, R3 are independently of each other hydrogen or lower alkyl; and pharmaceutically active salts of carboxylic acids of formula (I), and to the use of such retinoic acid receptor agonists, particularly retinoic acid receptor .gamma. (RAR.gamma.) selective agonists for example for the treatment of emphysema and related pulmonary diseases.
L'invention concerne de nouveaux agonistes retinoïdes sélectifs RAR de formule (I) dans laquelle R représente un hydrogène, alkyle, alkoxy, benzyle ou un phénéthyl; R?1¿, un hydrogène ou un alkyle; X représente C(R?2¿R?3¿) et m est un nombre entier 1,2 ou 3; ou X est un oxygène, souffre ou NH et m est égal à 1; R?2¿, R?3¿ sont, indépendamment l'un de l'autre, hydrogène ou alkyle inférieur. L'invention concerne également des sels pharmaceutiquement actifs d'acides carboxyliques de formule (I) et l'utilisation de ces agonistes de récepteur d'acide retinoïque, en particulier des agonistes sélectifs (RAR.gamma.) du .gamma. récepteur de l'acide retinoïque, par exemple, en vue de traiter l'emphysème et diverses affections pulmonaires associées.
