Disclosed is a wheelchair comprising a central wheel drive and a chassis (11) that is provided with a front part (13) and a rear part (15) which are interconnected by means of a joint (17). At least one front wheel (23), two central wheels (21), and at least one auxiliary wheel (25) are provided. The invention is characterized in that the auxiliary wheel (25) is located between the front wheel (23) and the central wheels (21) while being disposed at a distance from the tread (27) of said wheels. A gas spring (17) is stressed by both the front wheels (23) and the auxiliary wheel (25) when clearing an obstacle (43) while being relaxed again when riding on such that riding over obstacles is made significantly easier.
L'invention concerne un fauteuil roulant à entraînement par roues médianes, comprenant un châssis (11) qui présente une partie avant (13) et une partie arrière (15), interconnectées par un assemblage articulé (17). Il est prévu au moins une roue avant (23), deux roues médianes (21) et au moins une roue auxiliaire (25). A cet effet, il est essentiel que la roue auxiliaire (25) se trouve entre la roue avant (23) et les roues médianes (21) et qu'elle soit montée à distance de la surface de roulement (27) de ces roues. Lors du franchissement d'un obstacle (43), le ressort à gaz (17) est contraint, aussi bien par les roues avant (23), que par la roue auxiliaire (25) et est relâché lorsque le véhicule poursuit sa route, ce qui simplifie sensiblement le franchissement d'obstacles.
