ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE Apparatus for producing sample parts arranged in an array on a base sheet. The apparatus includes a roller about which webbing of the sample material is drawn, the webbing being severed to form the sample parts and to transport the sample parts to a transfer station. Needle take-down apparatus at the transfer station engages the sample part with a plurality of retractable needles to moving the sample parts to a base sheet.
